Monitoring of energy efficient lighting addresses various areas, such as 

*energy consumption
*legal framework conditions
*capacity development
*lighting quality
*behavioral change
*impacts

According to the individual result chain of a project, monitoring will observe different result areas. The thus far here compiled tools and instruments (see [[#References|References]]) address the following areas:
