NRECA International is part of a multi-member consortium that has been contracted to implement the ESA project. The Off-Grid Electrification Specialist (Specialist) will be the primary NRECA International representative on the ESA team and will be responsible for implementation of day-to-day activities in the primary project offices in Pretoria, South Africa.<br /> <br /> About the role<br /> Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<br /> <br /> Identifies off-grid electrification expansion opportunities in ESA target countries in collaboration with other ESA implementing partners.<br /> Leads efforts to achieve transaction closure in support of ESA’s off-grid targets, including 1.5 million connections; 35,000 PUE units; 1,000 mini-grids; and associated investment and GHG reduction targets.<br /> Identifies, evaluates and seeks solutions to improve enabling environment and financing conditions to support investments in mini-grid expansion in selected countries.<br /> Coordinates with ESA counterparts in each respective country to identify key off-grid electrification expansion opportunities and to design programs to support investments responsive to these opportunities.<br /> Coordinates with other NRECA personnel who will contribute to ESA activities in grid electrification expansion and who may provide direct support to the Off-Grid Electrification Specialist to support ESA objectives and activities.<br /> Coordinates with ESA colleagues to support productive uses of energy initiatives on the ESA program.<br /> Identifies new initiatives within the ESA project umbrella and other, non-ESA activities to expand NRECA services in Sub-Saharan Africa.<br /> }}</div>
