This webinar will focus on the productive uses of electricity and the role Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) can play to help moving forward this topic. It will include two case studies: the first one from the Practical Action will focus on how milling and ice-making could be included in the planning and operation of a mini-grid and the second one from Rainforest Alliance will include their experiences of using tea saw dust for energy generation in coffee cooperative areas.

ACCESS Coalition learning group is consolidating the capacity building and knowledge sharing plans under an initiative called ‘UP-SCALE ‘ (Building Skills, Capacities and Learning for Civil Society). UP-SCALE will select the most appropriate research and evidence-based work covering different topics and case studies to help increase ACCESS members’ knowledge and capacity on the selected topics. These topics will be presented in a series of webinars. This webinar is the first in a series of webinars that target knowledge sharing from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) operating in energy access for other CSOs and beyond.
