Malena stove in catalog GACC

Thanks to the recent updating of tests for the Malena improved cookstove, this technology has been accepted into the catalogue of the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (GACC). This is an important achievement, given that it opens the way for comparing technical aspects and the efficiency of the Malena stove with other improved stoves around the world.

International standards govern the world of improved cook stoves. In late 2015, EnDev Bolivia repeated the appropriate tests of  the Malena stove, updating the results based on the protocols of the Water Boiling Test (WBT), which provide “proof of boiling water", and of security; according to the international definition of access tiers.

The Malena stove represents one of the technologies that EnDev supports in the rural areas of Bolivia. In order to qualify for dissemination in rural areas, an improved cook stove must comply with set parameters regarding function, efficiency, etc. which form an integral part of the work of EnDev Bolivia.
