The IKEA Foundation is a strategic philanthropic organisation that focuses its grant making efforts on tackling the two biggest threats to children’s futures: poverty and climate change. It currently grants more than €200 million per year to help improve family incomes and protect the planet from climate change. Since 2009, the IKEA Foundation has granted more than €1.6 billion to create a better future for children and their families.

The IKEA Foundation is seeking an experienced Programme Manager with expertise in renewable energy access and how it relates to mitigating the effects of climate change and alleviating poverty in order to strengthen their Renewable Energy portfolio. The Programme Manager Renewable Energy is responsible for funding and monitoring initiatives within the portfolio. Together with the portfolio team, the Programme Manager gives interpretation around the Renewable Energy strategy which focuses on improving sustainable livelihoods. The aim is to spend available funding as responsibly and effectively as possible and to contribute optimally to the mission and vision of the IKEA Foundation.

As Programme Manager, you will be part of a small but enthusiastic team of people that is committed to make a difference. You will report to the Head of Portfolio.

We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in working on renewable energy and renewable energy access as either having grant investment or foundation experience, and/or with on-the-ground experience as an entrepreneur or with resourcing initiatives.The individual should also have an affinity with the broader themes of the IKEA Foundation. Most importantly, the successful individual will demonstrate a strong commitment to the vision, mission and values of the IKEA Foundation.
