Abstract
The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is thrilled to release its 2017 Progress Report, tracking advances made across the clean cooking sector. As the report shows, Alliance partners distributed an estimated 80+ million clean and/or efficient cookstoves and fuels from 2010-2016, with more than 30 million in 2016 alone.

From India to Haiti, from China to Kenya, and far beyond, governments and the private sector are investing in expanding clean cooking access. Consumer demand is growing. Millions more people are benefiting from the use of cleaner, more efficient cookstoves and fuels.

Yet for all that has changed, challenges remain. We’ve come a long way since the Alliance was founded in 2010. We’re making real progress. Now it’s time to put our foot on the accelerator and drive the sector forward to universal clean cooking access by 2030.
