= Introduction = = Ongoing Energy Projects = *[http://bit.ly/2bQ3AIL Promotion of environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient grid-based hydropower through an integrated approach in Sao Tome and Principe" project]:- This project launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the Government of Sao Tome, on March 2016, will focus on promoting renewable energy; particularly on reducing the financial burden on the Government and <span style="font-size: 13.6px; line-height: 20.4px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">sustainable</span> energy transition. <br/> The program will last 5 years and during this time, the small hydropower plants are expected to generate 365,000 MWh of electricity and avoid 874,200 tons of C02.
