As with any group work, a few rules apply to ensure the good operation of the wiki. Please take the time to read them before posting your first contribution.

1. Registration

Anyone with a subject-specific reference concerning energy may register with energypedia. When registering, personal data will be inquired and stored. To ensure transparency and prevent vandalism users are required to provide their full name as username.

The basis of energypedia are its individual users there organizations and enterprises may not register on energypedia. However energypedia users may point out their membership in a certain organization or enterprise in their own profiles.

You may cancel your registration at any time by sending an email to info@energypedia.info. Energypedia serves the right to disqualify users from the services in case of providing false information deliberately.

2. Content Accuracy

As with any open system, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of energypedia wiki's content. We kindly ask users to fix any mistake or report it to the website managers so we can make the necessary changes.

3. Contributing

Any user with an energypedia.info account may contribute to the content. All changes are considered as publications. The author of the change will be publicly identified and hence agrees with the terms of the wiki's license: Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0). All changes are tracked and all consequent versions of all pages are maintained.

If you want to import text that you have found elsewhere or that you have co-authored with others, you can only do so if it is available under terms that allow wider distribution.

Furthermore, please note that you cannot import information which is available only under copyright.

If you import text which requires attribution, you must, in a reasonable fashion, credit the author(s). Regardless of the license, the text you import may be rejected if the required attribution is deemed too intrusive.

Do not contribute and upload content and files that infringes copyrights. Plagiarism may lead to the exclusion of the user.

Copyright infringements should be reported to the energypedia staff so that it can delete the appropriate files.

Certain areas that are vital for the operation of energypedia such as the homepage as well as certain templates, forms and properties are off limit to users and will be maintained by energypedia moderators.

4. Peer Review

As with any wiki, content is continuously improved through peer review. Any user with an energypedia.info account can take part to this process. Peer review can be applied to different levels, both to the style and the content.

Energypedia is a volunteer community, and does not require the Energypedians to give any more time and effort than they wish. Focus on improving the energypedia itself, rather than demanding more from others. Editors are expected to comply with energypedia guidelines and policies, especially when it comes to behavior and conduct. But editors are free to take a break or leave energypedia at any time.

5. Moderation / Mutual Respect

Any article with offensive content or violating mutual respect rules will be deleted by the website managers. Any off-topic article will be deleted by the website managers. Any user who will not comply with those two rules will be warned and his/her account will be momentarily suspended. The account may be deleted if the user obviously refuses to understand the warning.

Energypedia is not a place to hold grudges, import personal conflicts, carry on ideological battles, or nurture prejudice, hatred, or fear. Making personal battles out of energypedia discussions goes directly against our policies and goals.

Every user is expected to interact with others civilly, calmly, and in a spirit of cooperation.

6. Advertisements

Mention of service providers, websites, product names and the like are not acceptable unless factual related to the topic.

All information about companies and products are written in an objective and unbiased style. External links to commercial organizations are acceptable if they identify major organizations which are the topic of the article. Articles may not be used for promotional and advertisement purposes.

Articles considered advertisements include those that are solicitations for a business, product or service, or are public relations pieces designed to promote a company or individual. When an article on an otherwise encyclopedic topic has the tone of an advertisement, the article can often be salvaged by rewriting it in a neutral point of view. Elements of articles about products or services with brand names can also be combined under a common topic or category to facilitate unbiased and collaborative information by including information about the competition and about different alternatives.

In severe cases, particularly in the event of repetitive violation, energypedia serves the right to delete articles and block the respective user.

There are no plans for advertising on energypedia.

7. Offensive and Illegal Content

Energypedia may contain content that some readers consider objectionable or offensive, even exceedingly so (see energypedia disclaimer). Energypedia cannot guarantee that articles or images will always be acceptable to all readers, or that they will adhere to general social or religious norms.

Articles and content about living people are required to meet an especially high standard, as they may otherwise be libelous or infringe the subjects' right to privacy. Articles should not be written purely to attack the reputation of another person.

Since anyone can edit an article and most changes made are displayed immediately, inappropriate material may appear before it can be removed. Content which is obviously inappropriate (such as an irrelevant link to a shock site, appeals to acts of crime or clear vandalism) is usually removed quickly.

However, some articles may include text, images, or links which some people may find objectionable, when these materials are relevant to the content. Discussion of potentially objectionable content should not focus on its offensiveness but on whether it is appropriate to include in a given article. Beyond that, "being objectionable" is generally not sufficient grounds for removal of content.

8. File Storage

Energypedia is not a web space provider, please upload only files that are used (or will be used) in articles or project pages; anything else will be deleted.

9. Job Portal

Energypedia users may post new job offers on energypedia in the job portal as long as they are related to the energy field.

Moderator may have the rights to reject contributions in the job portal.
