Description
|
The adoption of the Paris Climate Agreement calls for an unprecedented effort to reduce man-made greenhouse gas emissions based on nationally determined contributions and provides a roadmap for global transformation towards a zero-carbon, Climate-resilient future. To deliver on this, all stakeholders must come together to accelerate and scale innovation and climate action.
The objectives of the Africa Waste & Energy Expo are: To bring together global and continental leaders from policy makers, global companies, start-ups, investors and international organizations, to share and discuss zero-carbon and circular economy solutions for a sustainable and climate-resilient future. The Forum is also a springboard to present cutting-edge climate innovations from large corporations, start-ups, cities and other stakeholders. The Discussions are structured around partnerships, investments and policy changes needed to accelerate and scaling up innovations for a climate positive future.
The Climate action Parallel Sessions are designed around six key sectors – buildings and infrastructure, Low emission, carbon and energy, manufacturing, food and agriculture, and Biodiversity. The parallel sessions take a deeper look into the specific challenges and solutions from a sector focus perspective. Every session includes presentations from innovative solution providers and discussions with expert from international organisations, policy makers and business community.
The expo incorporates roundtable discussion to accelerate and scale up innovations for a climate resilient future. The objective of the working group is to come up with a set of actionable solutions and policy recommendations. The outcomes are published in the Green expo post-event report.
