Description
On 27th March 2023, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) invites you to the event "Decentralized Renewable Energy in Africa - Key to a global energy transition" in the run-up to the Berlin Energy Week. As a contribution to the global energy transition, the BMZ initiative Green People’s Energy for Africa and BMZ Energy Commissioner for Africa Bärbel Höhn will present its experiences, achievements, and expertise in supporting decentralized renewable energy in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Launched in 2017, the Green People’s Energy for Africa initiative is making an innovative contribution to achieving SDG 7 Universal Access to Affordable, Reliable, and Modern Energy Services. Innovative approaches have been tested in more than 30 small-scale projects to find new approaches to providing decentralized and off-grid energy access in rural areas of Africa. Green People’s Energy for Africa has created a unique network of partners, leaders, visionaries, professionals, and citizens. On 27th March 2023, stakeholders from the initiative will share their experiences in Berlin.
