|| Microgrids are expected to play a critical role in providing electricity access in Africa, and private investment in the microgrid sector will be needed for the sector to scale. Investment has been slow in part due to the high perceived risk related to system performance factors such as quality, safety and revenues. The Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) for mini-grids was developed to help address these challenges.
NREL, Odyssey Energy and TFE Energy have all been working to implement QAF components into broader efforts to standardize performance monitoring across the microgrid sector in Africa to help the sector grow and attract investment. This webinar will provide an overview of these related efforts and will include an introduction from Katrina Pielli of Power Africa along with presentations from Sam Booth (NREL), Emily McAteer (Odyssey Energy) and Sam Duby (TFE Energy). The presentations will be followed by an interactive question and answer session with the audience.
