Description
|
Part of the 'Race to Zero' campaign, this event gives you the opportunity to join a global debate on how to foster ecosystems of innovation in food, transform agriculture and build back better from the COVID-19 pandemic.
World leaders will chart a new path to a future where we limit climate change at the COP26 summit in Glasgow next year. The objective of ‘Race to Zero’ is to build momentum ahead of that summit, amplifying calls for a shift to a decarbonized economy and securing stronger commitments from governments to reach the goals set out by the Paris Climate Agreement.
Attending this event will be stakeholders drawn from across our food systems—farmers, consumers, policy makers, researchers, activists and more—to reach consensus on priority policies and solutions to drive a more ambitious climate agenda and win the ‘Race to Zero’.
This event also supports the Just Rural Transition (JRT) initiative, launched at the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit. The JRT brings together governments, companies, civil society, farmers groups and indigenous people to support a growing global ‘community of purpose’ that hopes to halt the rapid degradation of nature, and refocus our collective efforts toward sustainable development for people and the planet.
