A discrimination of women prevents their participation in a variety of decision making processes around energy, including e.g. financial and political decisions. At the same time, the disparity in roles between genders means that they experience different effects from interventions aiming to improve access to modern energy services.
Consequently, a range of special considerations and precautions around the gender related impacts of interventions is necessary.
