|| Research and Development Programme
The Efficiency for Access Coalition’s Research and Development Programme aims to accelerate the affordability and efficiency of a range of low energy inclusive appliances suited to developing country contexts. The first round of the grant fund is valued at £1 million (received from UK aid) and will be distributed in several rounds to organisations conducting R&D projects that have the potential to accelerate the availability, affordability, efficiency and performance of off-grid and weak grid appliances.
This is part of the Efficiency for Access Coalition’s suite of activities to support and accelerate innovation in off-grid and weak grid appliances. As you may be aware, there is a lack of resources (both financial and technical) invested in appliance R&D, which has limited market growth in this area. The application window for the first round of grants is now live and will be open to all organizations that meet the application criteria. Submissions for applications will close on 16 January 2019 at midnight (GMT). To find out more about the eligibility and funding criteria, application process, and timeline, please visit Efficiency for Access.
The first round of the grant fund is worth at least £1 million, with available grants ranging from £50,000 to £200,000 per project.
