|| During 2019, a High-Level Group developed the Masterplan for a Competitive Trans-formation of EU Energy-intensive Industries enabling a climate-neutral, circular economy by 2050. The unit is supporting the Masterplan by mapping the energy and non-energy infrastructure in Europe in a Geographical Information System (Energy Geography Lab).
The team in which the trainee will be embedded will liaise with the energy intensive industries and other stakeholders in the course of the development of the Energy Geography Lab. The tasks of the trainee will include:
- Record requests, and suggestions received from the Energy Intensive Industry, and the rationales behind;
- Identify and propose sources for the data;
- Assist in the cleaning, validation and handling of datasets and databases
At the end of the traineeship, the trainee will have gained significant knowledge on the energy intensive industry in the EU and the policies shaping the energy and climate agenda in the industry sector, as well as an insight on knowledge management in support of policymaking.
