Fuel prices are regulated by the government in Uzbekistan. An excise duty on fuels was first introduced in 2008, making approx. 10% of the retail price as of January 2011. Price remained completely unchanged in 2009. In 2010, prices were revised three times (see 1.).

No official information on fuel pricing could be found on the government website (http://www.gov.uz), possibly due to language barrier. Hints welcome!

According to an internet article (→App. A1), there is an excise tax on gasoline of 175 Soms/litre (~10% of pump price) as of January 2011 (raised from 145 Soms/litres effectice until December 2010).
