Insulating rocket stoves are 100% insulating ceramic and highly energy efficient! The stove material is porous ceramic (Reference 1), the volume of voids 50%, so the stoves are lightweight. The video of the following link shows an insulating rocket stove in Rwanda in 2022. The stove boils water quickly, using remarkably little fuel, i.e., leaves and sticks in the video. The stove is essentially a furnace, burning very hot, so what would be smoke is burned up. Because the stove is 2-piece, cook pots of any size can be used. When produced by low-income potters the stove will pay for itself quickly by the poorest, in the savings of time and money.

Boiling for water treatment could be affordable to the poorest. Professors at Alfred University’s New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred.edu, can verify the viability of this stove, based on their knowledge of the materials, the processes and the applications. Easily adapted to the use of electricity and non-solid fuels, and full portability, the stove should attract entrepreneur investors for sale in upscale markets. Prevent respiratory illnesses! 3.2. Thermal properties

…. Porous ceramics require tortuous and lengthy path for heat transfer, therefore exhibiting low thermal conductivity. The combination of excellent thermal shock resistance and low thermal conductivity, as well as good mechanical strength at high temperature, make porous ceramics exceptional candidates for applications under harsh conditions.
