sustainable future requires integrating large volumes of intermittent renewable energy. In addition, the decarbonization will require electrification of sectors traditionally powered by fossil fuels.
This electrification will place significant pressure on electricity grids that will have to transmit higher amounts of electricity and accommodate new consumption patterns. The expectations placed on electricity grids are hard to overstate.
