Yconic is a wiki platform to teach youth about climate change, the energy transition, digitalisation and social justice.

Youth today face an uncertain future, with four forces reshaping societies – for better or worse.

🌍 Climate Change | ⚡ Clean Energy Transition | 💻 Digitalisation | ⚖️ Social Justice

Yconic is a wiki-based platform designed to help youth and their teachers -- understand the interplay of these forces. It also helps them develop communication skills that prepare them to be advocates, activists and actors.

Over its pilot phase (2024/25), Yconic gave students from schools in three countries – Bulgaria, Italy and Spain – a chance to learn, create and collaborate.

As teachers prepare for the 2025/26 year, Yconic is preparing to go global! Scroll down for more details!

What Yconic will learn from youth

A very cool aspect of Yconic is that it will use advanced digital tools to learn how youth learn. Yconic will capture data from User activity on the platform, then apply artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing to analyse two things:

  • progress in learning about the four topics
  • how students gather information, interact and create new content.

This will help Yconic respond to what youth want to learn and continually improve the Platform.

In fact, Yconic would like to start learning right now! To give you the best experience possible, we want to find out a bit about what you already know. Or would like to learn. That way, we can prepare the content and tools you (and your teachers) need.

To do that, we’ve set up a short quiz that asks some basic questions but also gives you a chance to express your ideas. It will take 20-25 minutes to complete the quiz, after which you can start exploring Yconic content, either with your class or on your own.

Join the Yconic movement for 2025/26!

Yconic is excited to invite teachers and students aged 12-16 to join the project's global roll-out in the next academic year (2025-2026)!

Here's a quick recap of what Yconic offers, demonstrating that is highly dynamic and super-efficient for teachers.
