Project description
The market for SPIS in India is primarily driven by subsidies, provided by the central government and additionally by some states. Most enterprises working with SPIS are only selling standardized packages to the government (B2G Business to Government). Farmers are usually not a target groups. Therefore no business relations between service providers and farmers are established and technologies are not adapted to the local needs.
The project developed a site selection tool and a market intelligence tool. Further, financial products were developed for SPIS and 171 bankers were trained. In total, 237 farmers benefitted directly and indirectly from installed pumps.
