Project Manager for Cooking Energy Strategy Development (m/f/d) as Integrated Expert
We are looking for you: Energy Development Corporation Limited (EDCL) needs your expertise to promote market development in the area of cooking energy. EDCL, a governmental institution established in 2014, supervises the implementation and/or monitoring of all energy projects in Rwanda financed by either the state or the private sector. The modernisation of cooking technologies and practices can play a particularly important role in combating deforestation and mitigating climate change. New business models are intended to reduce the use of inefficient cooking practices and thus restore the balance between wood supply and demand.
Your tasks will involve: - Coordinating all measures in the field of cooking energy - Designing a monitoring and evaluation system to track the progress made in reducing biomass by using efficient cooking technologies - Strengthening partnerships between government and non-governmental actors - Helping companies to increase their production and professionalise their business activities - Identifying sources of funding for entrepreneurial projects and establishing contacts with funding partners
Your Profile: - University degree in economics, environmental economics, energy management or another qualification that provides the necessary skills for the job - Several years of professional experience in the field of cooking energy - Experience with biomass, especially with using liquid gas - Ideally regional experience and experience with German development cooperation - Very good command of English - Citizenship of an EU- or EFTA member state
