Project description

The market for SPIS in India is primarily driven by subsidies, provided by the central government and additionally by some states. Most enterprises working with SPIS are only selling standardized packages to the government (B2G Business to Government). Farmers are not needed as target groups, therefore no business relations between service providers and farmers are established. Technologies are not adapted to the local needs. The results and findings from the project will be used for political advice to support the preparation of a roadmap for the promotion of sustainable energy solutions in the agricultural sector. All activities will take gender aspects into account. The approach for developing the market for solar powered pumps is by: - Facilitating demand creation, - Improving supply chains - Supporting the market ecosystem.
