Divestment: Concept
"Fossil fuel divestment", or sometimes simply "divestment", is a concept and also an ongoing global movement that is part of the climate movements. Divestment, as the opposite of investment, is the act of withdrawing one's financial connections from a certain type of economic activity, which in our context would be the fossil fuel industry. This act can be carried out on an individual level, an institutional level, and even local or central government level.
