Background of assignment SNV in Nepal is considering to provide technical assistance in support to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The project aims to strengthen institutionalization of gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) to its operations and to support women and excluded groups to productively use energy with safety and efficiency.
Job Description
SNV in Nepal seeks a qualified GESI expert consultant in order to contribute to the mainstreaming of GESI in NEA and strengthening capacity of women and marginalized groups to use electricity efficiency. The international expert consultant will have the overall responsibility of supporting the NEA to strengthen their capacity to implement strategies, guidelines and manuals on GESI. In addition, the expert will be responsible for the increased capacity of women, poor and marginalized people to use electricity efficiently. The expert will work close with the NEA and other stakeholders to support the process of gender mainstreaming. Deliverables · Overall coordination with NEA, donor and other stakeholders to ensure close and effective collaboration; · Supporting and strengthening NEA to institutionalize GESI through the implementation of the strategies, guidelines and manuals on GESI; · Implementation of GESI trainings to NEA and other stakeholders in the country; · Overall programme set-up and design, development and implementation of the GESI assignment; · Account and report to the donor and consortium partners on programme performance and progress including inception, progress and final reports; · Monitor and ensure performance of the programme and ensure that all milestones are met according to the donor requirements, develop mitigation plans to reduce setbacks and take corrective actions to remedy any deviation from work plan(s); · Supervise team members and overall management of resources allocated to the project.
Qualifications
· A master’s degree in a relevant social science discipline or equivalent profession training; · Minimum 10 years relevant international working experience; · Minimum 10 years professional experience in GESI mainstreaming (in projects and across systems) and empowering women and excluded communities via policy advocacy, analysis and/or training; · Experience in working in energy sector, preferably in access to and use of electricity · Minimum 10 years of project management experience including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting; · Minimum 5 years of professional experience in managing/supporting (sub)national government and non-government development institutions in developing, implementing and monitoring GESI approaches; · Experience in Southeast Asia, preferably in Nepal with NEA; · Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; · Excellent command of English in speaking and writing.

Qualifications & Requirements
- A relevant qualification in Agri economics, Agricultural Economics, Business or related field;
- At least 10 years’ experience in value chain/ market development and inclusive business;
- Experience implementing projects related to inclusive business, value chain development;
- Proven track record in networking and dialogue facilitation with private and public sector actors;
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation;
- Demonstrated experience in capacity development;
- Sound experience in knowledge management;
- Able to strategically inspire and energise multi- partner project teams;
- Demonstrated experience in managing various stakeholders;
- Strong strategic decision-making and communication skills including reporting and presentation skills;
- Fluency in both written and spoken French and English is required.

· Contract type: Consultancy . Contract Duration: 15 months, divided over 3.5 years. · Expected start date: 1 March 2021 (subject to bid success) · Duty station: Kathmandu, Nepal (travel to all the 7 provinces to facilitate the process of GESI mainstreaming is required).
