Description
The Wikimedia Foundation, UN Environment Programme, and UN Human Rights are pleased to announce a special live discussion focused on the importance of public knowledge about the human right to a healthy environment.

The event will launch this year’s #WikiForHumanRights campaign, a global call to action for volunteers to write and improve content on Wikipedia about human rights, environmental health, and the range of communities impacted by convergent environmental crises of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss.

The discussion will include the Special Rapporteur for human rights and the environment, David Boyd; Joy Agyepong from Open Foundation West Africa; and a human rights activist working in the space (coming soon).

Do you have questions about how environmental issues are connected to human rights? Want to know how free knowledge can help communities understand and advocate for environmental human rights? Join us and learn more about the role you can play in sharing free, collaborative knowledge about human rights.

The live event on Thursday, 15 April 2021 at 1500 UTC+2 will be a ninety minute discussion with time reserved for questions and answers from the audience. We will have live translation in English, French, Arabic, Spanish and Chinese.
