Eligibility/Description
Currently, the operation and maintenance expenses of street lighting systems are under EDM and negotiations are underway to charge street lighting electricity consumption to the Municipalities. As part of its efforts to reduce street lighting electricity and maintenance growing costs, EDM, with the support from the AfDB, is exploring long-term and sustainable options to improve efficiency of street lighting infrastructure networks, by replacing current lighting systems with modern and energy efficient LED-based solutions.

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Department (PERN) invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in providing consulting services to support EDM in the above-mentioned assignment in the Cities of Maputo, Matola, Beira, Chimoio and Tete.

More specifically, the consulting firm will conduct a feasibility study to assess technical, financial and implementation options for the EE street lighting program. The assignment is expected to be carried out over 6 months, starting at the beginning of January 2022.
