Job description
The CCAC National Project Coordinator for Zimbabwe will be responsible for providing support to the CCAC Focal Point at the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Wildlife to support Zimbabwe’s SLCP agenda and to ensure that the CCAC supported projects are completed within timeline and in line with Zimbabwe’s needs and priorities. All deliverables are to be validated by the CCAC Secretariat.

Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification in a subject related to environmental management/science, economics, health, project management, finance, administration, or in a relevant field.

  • At least 5 years of professional experience working in a field relevant to environmental management/science, climate change, economics, health, project management, finance, and administration.
  • Proven experience in coordination, stakeholder engagements especially government, private sector and CSOs is required.
  • Extensive knowledge on climate change and its conventions, GHG inventory compilations processes are required.
  • Working knowledge on SLCPs is required.
  • An understanding of the country’s climate and transparency institutional arrangements is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups including national governments is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders is required.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral presentations) are required. *Knowledge of the national policies in climate change mitigation and air pollution is required A good understanding of short-lived climate pollutants, climate change and air pollution issues in Zimbabwe is desirable.
  • Ability to work with advanced formulas in Excel spreadsheet is desirable.
