This event is part of the Project ‘Empowering Displaced Communities Through Energy Mesh Network’, funded by Innovation Norway and implemented by IOM with the support of NORCAP.
A mesh grid consists of interconnected solar energy systems that enable households to share power, thereby optimising the energy capacity of the systems and benefiting more individuals. IOM is currently looking for partners (local or global companies, INGOs, NGOs, CBOs and social enterprises) to implement this solution and improve sustainable access to energy in one resettlement site in Central Mozambique.

Present the project and the preliminary findings of the energy needs assessment from IDP resettlement sites in Central Mozambique. Explore solar energy systems available in the market to improve energy access in displacement settings and understand opportunities and challenges Explore financial mechanism that can increase affordability for end-user and guarantee viability of the mesh grid - including risk minimisation and instalment payments. Provide information on next steps including the tender plan for the next phase. The event will be on-line in English on the 24th of July 2024 from 14.00 to 15.30 pm
