Please would you share the following opportunity widely through your networks (please note mid-May application deadline) – WWF are generously supporting up to five fully funded scholarships (including travel costs) for a new blue carbon summer programme which we are offering at the University of St Andrews. The scholarships are intended to support applicants from the Global South and are aligned with the ambition of the UN Ocean Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. Participants (including students, early career researchers, and others wishing to develop their science-based knowledge of blue carbon) attending the two week summer programme will complete an accredited course at the University of St Andrews. The programme includes fieldwork on the Scottish coastline, a daily schedule of morning lectures, followed by afternoon practical classes. Training in advanced analytical techniques in the laboratory will be blended with data analysis, computer classes to build geo-spatial skills, as well as policy seminars and student group work.
