Trama TecnoAmbiental (TTA), with headquarters in Barcelona (Spain), is an international engineering and consulting firm in business since 1986 in the field of renewable energies and specialized in distributed generation and energy access for development. TTA’s multidisciplinary team has comprehensive experience at both technical and management levels and has been exposed to many international projects all over the world. TTA has been pioneer of renewable energy-based microgrids, 100% and/or hybrid, both in concept development, design, and engineering, as well as deployment and dissemination with a clear vision and an approach key to sustainability and social responsibility.


Job description and Responsibilities

TTA is seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer, ideally specialized in PV plant design and construction, to join the Technical and Construction Unit of TTA. The Civil & Structural Engineer will carry out civil and structural design and construction supervision activities for grid-connected and stand-alone renewable energy plants, supporting electrification projects worldwide. The Civil & Structural Engineer will work in the following areas, listed according to priority:

1.Structural design: Work in civil and structural designs from tens of kW up to the MW range PV installations and their related facilities: layout, dimensioning, bill of quantities, drawings, and technical specifications.

2.Conceptualize technical solutions: Support the definition of technical solutions from the project and the client's needs and liaise with the engineering department to define the concept designs.

3.Supervision and Construction management: Planning of PV plant construction and supervision of works and interconnection, including eventual field work with the supervision of subcontractors for civil work. Tight control of quality and timeline of small and medium sized projects up to a few MWp. Manage local teams and contractors and report to the manager.

4.Owner’s engineering: Advisory services to Institutional and private clients on project development, operation, tender preparation, and construction. Review and evaluation of technical and financial proposals by contractors including provision of support in the negotiations with winning bidders.

5.Overall project management: Control project timeline and budget, coordinate project teams to meet deadlines, coordinate the collaboration with external partners (contracting, deliverables etc.); manage customer relation by participating in calls, meetings and site visits.

6.Field missions. Travel to project sites when required.

7.Project proposal preparation: Support the Business Development department in preparing proposals, in particular preparing technical methodologies, bills of materials, budgets, and technical drawings for proposals.

8.Feasibility Studies: Support the preparation of technical and economic feasibility studies for Solar PV plants and mini-grid projects.


Profile

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following competences:

1.Educational Background. A master’s degree in civil or structural engineering or similar is required. Specific education in renewable energies, hydraulic systems mechanics, sustainable energy, and/or energy access will be an advantage.

2.Previous Work Experience. About 5 years of experience in civil or structural engineering. Experience in solar PV and other sustainable energy sources will be an advantage.

3.Languages. Professional level in English is required. Professional level in French will be an advantage.

4.Computer Skills. Excellent command of Microsoft Word, Excel, structural simulation software and AutoCAD.

It would be desirable for the candidate to have the following aptitudes:

1.International experience. Experience in developing countries.

2.Previous work experience in solar PV plants construction, structural calculations or site civil works.

3.Languages. Spanish and Catalan are nice to have.

4.Interests. Passionate about sustainable energy infrastructure. Interested in development.
