Abstract
Mongolia has set out ambitious plans to expand its transport infrastructure in the coming years. As climate-related risks such as floods and droughts intensify, ensuring that transport assets are planned and managed in a climate-resilient way will be critical to avoid locking in long-term vulnerabilities and costs. This policy paper presents findings from an OECD policy dialogue conducted in Mongolia on mainstreaming climate resilience into transport infrastructure planning and design. It outlines the rationale for strengthening climate resilience, takes stock of current policy practices and explores options to adapt transport infrastructure to a changing climate.
