As Africa continues to experience disproportionate impacts from climate change despite contributing less than 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, the symposium will provide an important platform for researchers, policymakers, practitioners, NGOs, students, and private sector representatives to exchange knowledge, showcase innovative adaptation solutions, and foster international collaboration.
The symposium will cover a broad range of topics, including:
- Climate adaptation policies
- Nature-based solutions
- Food security and sustainable agriculture
- Water resources
- Urban resilience
- Disaster risk reduction
- Climate finance
- Renewable energy
- Climate governance
- Education and capacity building
- Health and climate change
Researchers are invited to submit 200–300-word abstracts describing original conceptual or empirical research for oral or poster presentations.
Important Dates
- Abstract submission: 31 October 2026
- Registration: 20 November 2026
- Symposium: 18–19 February 2027
- Optional book chapter submission: 30 March 2027
Publication Opportunity
Selected papers presented at the symposium will have the opportunity to be published in a dedicated volume of the Springer Nature Climate Change Management Series, an internationally recognized book series indexed in SCOPUS and SCImago. Submission of a book chapter is optional.
