Last Update:

There is virtually no information about fuel pricing in Chad on the internet.

According to →App. A2 and A3, Chad has own oil sources and has considerable revenues selling this crude oil to neighboring countries. However, Chad itself has no refining industry, thus all fuel products have to be imported, mainly from Cameroon and Nigeria, making the fuels relatively expensive. Chad often faces fuel shortages due to production or transportation problems in Cameroon and Nigeria.

According to →Appendix A2, Petroleum activities (import, transport, storage and distribution of petroleum products) are provided by national and international professional private companies (Total, Mobil and Shell).

However, no information could be found, if and to what extent the prices of fuel are regulated by the Chad government.
