About GET.invest:

GET.invest (www.get-invest.eu) is a European programme that mobilises investment in renewable energy in developing countries. The programme is embedded in the development cooperation sector: supported by the European Union, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Austria; hosted on the platform of the Global Energy Transformation programme GET.pro (www.global-energy-transformation.eu); implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

At GET.invest, we support projects and companies in the renewable energy sector in becoming investment-ready and work alongside various stakeholders to build sustainable energy markets. With our work we contribute to improving livelihoods, health and education, gender equality, economic development and jobs, as well as to safeguarding the environment and tackling climate change.

Communication is at the heart of what we do, touches on all thematic areas of our programme, and is critical in achieving our objectives. To reinforce our communications team, we are looking for a creative, dynamic team-player with attention to detail and design skills to help us tell our story to both political and private sector audiences via a variety of (online) communication channels.

This position is right for you if you are:

• passionate about communications and excited about a position with creative freedom and challenging projects; • motivated by an impactful job in direct contact with a large network of organisations and initiatives in the energy access and renewable energy sectors; • looking for a dynamic and international work environment and colleagues that are passionate about their work.

Your tasks:

• Run GET.invest’s website and social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter). • Identify and develop content for different channels and audiences (partner newsletters, press releases, presentations, GIZ internal communication channels, etc.). • Design online campaigns and advise on digital communications. • Support and implement strategic communication products such as videos, podcasts or publications. • Liaise with GET.invest’s partners, in particular business associations, on joint events and communication activities, and provide visibility-related quality assurance. • Support coordination with third-party service providers, e.g. web and graphic designers. • Visualise data and develop visually attractive presentations and design assets. • Other tasks, supporting the GET.invest Communication Manager and the team with communication requests.

As part of the Communications team, you will work closely with colleagues in charge of thematic areas and maintain regular contact with communications staff of our partners.

Your profile:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the area of communications, political/social sciences, environmental studies or similar. • Professional experience in communications, in particular digital communications. Editorial experience is an asset. • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PPT); a good command of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and/or other design and video editing software is an asset. • Experience with content management systems (in particular WordPress) and social media channels such as LinkedIn and Twitter. • Excellent proficiency of oral and written English; knowledge of German, French or Portuguese is an asset. • Service-minded and reliable, with a strong attention to detail and a profound interest in sustainable development cooperation. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multi-cultural team and communicate effectively and sensitively with different stakeholders. • Proof of work permit for Belgium

What we offer:

We offer you a temporary contract with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Brussels under Belgian law. The position will be remunerated according to the level of experience. In addition to the legal holidays, you will receive 5 extra days of holiday per calendar year, as well as lunch checks, health insurance for hospitalization and the reimbursement of a monthly ticket for Brussels public transport and the possibility for home office in accordance with our respective policy.
