Project Drawdown is hiring a full-time (100%) Operations Associate—a back-office generalist to help us be a great place to work. This position will work across multiple areas of our operation in support of finance, HR, recruiting, and other administrative and organizational functions. This role will also help support our organizational culture – stewarding team-building, collaboration, and coordination of an all-remote team – and help accelerate DEIJ efforts across the organization.
The Operations Associate will report to the Director of Operations at Project Drawdown and have opportunities to engage throughout the organization. As a small organization with a big mission, we’re seeking someone who is comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously in an unstructured environment, and can help us work effectively together to grow our impact.

Essential Responsibilities
The Operations Associate will focus on the following responsibilities:
HR / Finance / Operations Administration (~50%)
Finance:
- Support monthly financial close process, including corporate credit card program
- Support semi-monthly payroll process including expense reimbursements, and time off tracking
- Process vendor invoices for payment
HR:
- Support annual audit, benefit renewals, and policy / handbook update processes
- Support our recruiting efforts, including job posting, targeted direct outreach, interview coordination and candidate communication
- Manage, track, and process agreements with freelancers / contractors (including requests for W-9s, invoices, etc.)
Operations:
- Work with Program Directors and Executive Director to track and report the outcomes and impact of all of our work
- Respond to external email inquiries, including speaker requests and media inquiries, and triage and route request as appropriate to internal resource at Project Drawdown
- Support quarterly Board of Directors meetings
- Other administrative tasks as requested
Organizational Culture, Team-Building, and DEIJ (~50%)
- Identify and implement ways to support meaningful connections and engagement among our remote team, and champion a positive culture at Project Drawdown
- Participate in and coordinate internal DEIJ committee, including managing meeting schedules, agendas, minutes and follow ups
- Coordinate internal and external DEIJ engagements (internal training, committee meetings, communication with external consultants, etc.)
- Help plan and manage logistics for staff retreats, professional development opportunities, and other programming
- Help develop and implement employee recognition and professional development programs
- Manage and create opportunities to celebrate staff (i.e. work milestones etc.)
