Services includes advisory support on project and business plan development, project and business structuring and accessing finance. Advisory is provided through a team of dedicated experts with extensive experience in developing and financing renewable energy and clean cooking projects and businesses. Services are at no cost to the project developer or entrepreneur.
Many of these projects and businesses are challenging for financiers due to the relatively small investment size, and the financiers’ limited experience with these technologies and new business models. Project developers and entrepreneurs may lack the experience, networks or time to identify appropriate sources of finance, resulting in high transaction costs and few projects reaching financial close.
The team assists private-sector driven renewable energy projects and clean cooking businesses. For renewable energy, the GET.invest Finance Catalyst services are available for on-grid as well as off-grid decentralised projects, as indicated in the diagram below. For the clean cooking sector, advisory focuses on household clean cooking business models, covering both technology and fuels.
Projects and businesses with strong underlying fundamentals can be supported to access the most appropriate type of finance depending on a case by case basis to include debt, equity in combination with grants, aiming to reach financial close.
