Job description
The Policy Analyst, Canada Energy Transitions, will support IISD’s Energy Program. The successful candidate’s key areas of responsibility will include but not be limited to:
  • Collaborating with IISD staff to design, develop, and implement program work on green recovery, energy transitions (including just transition), fossil fuel subsidy reform, and overall climate change mitigation strategies in the Canadian and international contexts.
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative research; leading and contributing to reports, policy briefs, and other outputs for the program; and working with consultants as required.
  • Assisting in the communication of IISD research findings and policy recommendations to a variety of audiences via events and outreach, written blogs and op-eds, presentations to target audiences (including policy-makers and media), and more.
  • Supporting IISD collaboration and networking with partners in civil society, government, academia, and multilateral organizations. Working with and helping strengthen IISD’s network of allies working on energy and climate issues in Canada and internationally.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging issues related to program work, in particular, Canadian federal and provincial climate policy and international forums on climate change and clean energy.
  • Assisting in the implementation of specific projects, including collaborating with partners and consultants.
  • Supporting fundraising efforts, including reporting and developing proposals.
