Job description
We are looking for the Product Adoption Manager to support Energy Access companies in discovering and using Open Innovations. You will be the “Open Innovations Advocate” and help companies learn about new open solutions available in the market and how to make the best use of them. You will be helping prospective adopters learn and adopt the new innovations being published relevant to their business.


The Product Adoption Manager also promotes Open Innovation as a key to reducing barriers for new players to enter the market. Your success will lead to many companies adopting these open innovations in their businesses and actively growing open source within the Energy Access space enabling many more thousands of people to be electrified.

About you You’re the kind of person who is passionate about enabling the Energy Access industry to achieve universal energy access via open-source innovations. Your mind lives at the crossing of social impact, finance, and technology, and you are great at communicating what happens there. You are curious to learn about new open innovations being developed and used by companies, and you have ideas on how to get others to learn more about these innovations. You get fired up when finding new ways to use old tools, you see Bluetooth, and think about a smartphone and a water pump talking to each other. You see a USB connector and think about entire houses powered by energy-efficient appliances.


You love to help connect people with technology that makes it. You are a natural relationship and community builder loving to feed, maintain and grow the communities surrounding you. When talking to somebody about their endeavours, you immediately see problems others are facing while connecting the dots to help find a possible solution. You have worked in energy access and are familiar with the challenges and the companies in the sector. You do not hesitate to pick up the phone and call the people that would benefit from that thing you just saw while riding in a tuktuk. And most importantly, you are happy when you help others succeed and will go to great lengths to make that happen.

Qualifications – At least 2-3 years of working experience in energy access or the energy industry

– Experience with sales or technical support in B2B

– Good understanding of the energy access context (mainly Africa/South Asia)

– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar fields required

– Hands-on with open source tools and approaches, ideally used, created, or contributed to open source projects in the past

– Familiarity with technical decision-makers and their processes

– Outstanding presentation skills

– Excellent ability to quickly learn about products/innovations and to understand the customer’s needs

– Savvy with Google Workplaces, such as Gmail, Google Drive, etc.

– Experience with Github is a big plus, willingness to learn is a must

– Experience with programme management in non-profits is a big plus (overseeing programme budgets, tracking and reporting on programme performance, pipeline management, etc.)me


Additional details about the role – You will be part of a small remote working team and often have to wear multiple hats and be comfortable and open to leaving your comfort zone in order to learn and grow in these roles

– This is meant to be a full-time position. However, we can be flexible for the right candidate.

– Candidates should want to commit for at least one year, and be ready to show results within that time frame.

– This position is based in any of the European/African time zones (CET +/- 2h)

– Fluency in English is required, though we love accents and welcome yours to the team

– French is a plus

– This role is open to all ages, genders, and backgrounds

– Report to the Innovation & Operations Lead

– Salary will be based on experience, but we anticipate it being in the US$ 34k-48k bracket for a full-time position, growing over time based on results

– International travel will be required
