Abstract
AMER - ALER’s Member and Partner - recently implemented a study on the Impact of Covid-19 on the Renewable Energy sector, which culminated in the production of a Report that sets out the global, regional, and national situation of the impact of the pandemic on the sector.

The context of Renewable Energy in Mozambique including the on-grid and off-grid sectors is presented and the main challenges and opportunities for investments in renewable energy in Mozambique are also addressed.

In this report, AMER concludes as its next steps: overcome the challenges imposed by the pandemic by adopting the prioritization of the main barriers for the sector, focus on specific projects, ensure coordination and communication between the various sectors, increase effectiveness in public sector responses (investment in information technology) as well as the recognition and valorisation of localization services and capacity building.
