According to sources (→App. A2), the Ministry of Energy regulates fuel prices in Myanmar and the Myanmar government has had a monopol on producing, importing and retailing fuels. However, in 2010, the government allowed private companies to act as fuel importers in order to reduce the risk of shortages.
