Fuel Pricing Policies

Local Currency: LSL
Exchange Rate: 7.034

Last Update:

The Lesotho Petroleum Fund (LPF) regulates fuel prices. Prices are recalculated on a monthly basis. The LPF consists of representatives of several ministries and other organizations, as the “Lesotho Chamber of Commerce and Industry” and several transportation interest groups (source: LPF Website).

The country is divided into four pricing zones. Fuel prices differ only by ~3% among these zones, probably due to different transportation costs (→Annex A1).

The LPF used to publish current fuel prices through press releases on their website. However, the latest information available on their website was published in 2006 (→Annex A3).
