Dalberg, Mercy Corps, Shell, IFC, GOGLA, and GPA warmly invite you to a dialogue series on public-private partnerships in humanitarian energy. Session 1: Private sector engagement in humanitarian energy 101: ‘The need, the obstacles, and the opportunity’

This session gives an overview of the need for private sector engagement in humanitarian energy. It also discusses challenges and opportunities faced by various stakeholders within the humanitarian energy ecosystem. The panel will comprise leaders from Shell, Mercy Corps, and IFC Lighting Global.

The panelist will share their motivation for engaging in displacement settings, challenges and opportunities they encountered and finally advice for other energy enterprises who are also looking to engage in these markets.

Representatives from UNHCR, D.Light Planet, EnDev and Mercy Corps will discuss the pros and cons of the two main collaboration models: market-based and procure and distribute.
