Description
Interest in PUE products has increased rapidly over the last few years; with 35% of GDC members already sell PUE products, up from just 6% in 2019, and an increasing number of donors and investors specifically interested in funding PUE projects.

But for last mile distributors who are considering adding PUE products to their basket, it is not a simple step. From solar water pumps, to egg incubators, sewing machines and more, PUE products are proving to be a considerably more complex undertaking than products like off-grid solar lighting and home systems. Among other things, PUE products require a strong and reliable supply chain, specific sales and marketing techniques, a comprehensive consumer financing offering, and sophisticated after sales support and services.

The impacts of PUE products for last mile customers can indeed be transformational - but taking the plunge to sell them requires some thought. Join us to dig into what it takes and to hear lessons learned from GDC members' own experiences; including first-hand insights from Solar Sister's recent pilot in Tanzania, which tested the sale of products such as solar-powered hair clippers and fishing lights.
