On 14 July UN DESA is conducting a side event at the 2023 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) in cooperation with the Sustainable Water and Energy Solutions Network to provide an opportunity for the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and experiences on integrated water and energy solutions supporting cities and human settlements.
Panelists will explore the interdependencies between water and energy systems, delve into the challenges faced by urban environments and explore innovative approaches to address these issues. Speakers will discuss innovative approaches to ensuring access to sustainable, affordable, reliable and modern energy, water and sanitation services which are necessary conditions for the sustainability of cities and human settlements and to ensuring long-term habitable communities for the future
