Description
Energy-related greenhouse gas emissions in Southeast Asia are projected to nearly double by 2040, with electricity and transport the largest pollution emitters, contributing to reduced air quality and increased risks of climate-related impacts to health and livelihoods. To tackle the global climate crisis, the world is looking to encourage and adapt clean energy solutions, with the mobilization of electric vehicles (EV) an increasingly viable way to reduce carbon footprints.

In response to these challenges and to celebrate the end of the USAID Clean Power Asia program, the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Regional Development Mission for Asia will hold a virtual Renewable Energy Symposium and Electric Vehicle Challenge on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 14.00-15.30 Bangkok (ICT) time. With a small audience* of dignitaries and stakeholders, the event will feature conversations with experts and leaders in clean energy, discussing renewable energy trends and advanced technologies in Thailand and the region, along with an EV roadshow highlighting the latest in clean energy solutions available today.

Mark your calendars for Friday, April 2 from 14:00-15:30 and join us virtually on USAID Asia’s Facebook Live page for this celebration of five years of successful clean energy activities and learn more about how USAID is helping Southeast Asia accelerate the regional transition to a cleaner future for all.
