The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) is the global association for the decentralised renewable energy industry, uniting more than 185 members and catalysing private sector-driven markets for sustainable electricity services, creating jobs and powering equitable green economies. The focus regions of ARE are Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America & the Caribbean.
Job description ARE is recruiting an ‘Events & Marketing Assistant’, reporting to the Communications & Marketing Officer.
About the role Support with ARE event and webinar implementation; Weekly research on market intelligence and dissemination through our communications tools; Support with the ARE Newsletter; Keeping the ARE website updated; Supporting the management of social media channels and community management (LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook) and growing the ARE community; Creating visuals for ARE events and campaigns; Administrative tasks on an ad-hoc basis (i.e. onboarding of new members, management of ARE inbox, CRM support).
About you
Fluent in written and spoken English (native speaker or equivalent);
Excellent writing, editing and reviewing skills;
Ability to provide clear and concise deliverables under time pressure;
Rigorous attention to detail and ability to take ownership of activities and projects;
Proactive mindset and can-do attitude;
Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and knowledge of CMS (Drupal) is an advantage;
Strong graphic design skills (Canva/Photoshop) are desirable;
Ability to think ‘out of the box’;
University degree in event management, marketing, communications, sustainability or other relevant studies or equivalent experience;
Right to live and work in Belgium;
Knowledge of other languages (especially French) is an asset;
Previous work experience in another association is an asset.
