Knowledge fuels change - Support energypedia!
For over 10 years, energypedia has been connecting energy experts around the world — helping them share knowledge, learn from each other, and accelerate the global energy transition.
Today, we ask for your support to keep this platform free and accessible to all.
Even a small contribution makes a big difference! If just 10–20% of our 60,000+ monthly visitors donated the equivalent of a cup of coffee — €5 — Energypedia would be fully funded for a whole year.
Is the knowledge you’ve gained through Energypedia this year worth €5 or more?
Your donation keeps the platform running, helps us create new knowledge products, and contributes directly to achieving SDG 7.
Thank you for your support, your donation, big or small, truly matters!

Around the world, more than 2.3 billion rely on polluting fuels, driving pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, high deforestation rates and health risks. According to the 2024 report by World Health Organization (WHO), on household air pollution, biomass cooking fuels remain a major health and environmental hazard, contributing to over 3.2 million premature deaths annually and significant CO₂ emissions.
These impacts disproportionately affect especially women and children living in communities in the Global South. Transitioning to modern, energy-efficient electric cooking appliances has the potential to lead to improved health and quality of livelihoods, through the elimination of harmful indoor smoke and reduced costs associated with inefficient cooking fuels, contributing to the creation of sustainable and resilient communities.
The 2025 Global LEAP Awards Induction Cooktops Competition, building on the success of inaugural 2024 Competition, aims to identify and promote efficiently designed and high-quality electric induction cooktops. With combined laboratory, indoor air quality, and usability testing with households in Ghana and Indonesia, this Competition will help drive innovation, while building valuable technical and commercial market infrastructure and evidence-based insights on health impacts.
