UNCDF is seeking partners to respond to the increased challenges faced by digital solution providers in the clean cooking sector.

The goal of the challenge is to develop technology solutions to ease access to finance (including from publicly funded output-based finance programs, carbon markets, and commercial credit markets), by both increasing the availability and amount of this financing and reducing the associated costs.

The Digital innovations challenge for clean cooking seeks to support the private sector to discover and test or take to market digitally-enabled products (i.e. monitoring devices), platforms, and services that aim to address failures in the interconnected markets for information, finance, and clean cooking fuels/tools.

This RFA is framed under these 4 proposed main areas of intervention.

Digital services to improve data collection and monitoring. Digital services to improve business processes. Digital services or platforms for carbon finance Digital services or platforms for investors Please read carefully the requirements, eligibility conditions, and evaluation criteria for this RFA, before submitting your application.

Please note that application to this RFA is a requirement to participate in the Digital Innovations Challenge, which has three stages:

Bootcamp Acceleration Scaling Implementation

To be part of the Digital Innovations Challenge, candidates will be first selected to participate in the Bootcamp, tentatively to be hosted in June 2023. Bootcamp pitch day winners will thereafter participate in the Acceleration stage over six months. During acceleration, teams will have the opportunity to submit refined projects and further information for due diligence, to be considered for potential funding over several months.
