Abstract
This report comprises part of Energy 4 Impact’s research programme ‘Crowd Power’ which examines the role of alternative finance, such as crowdfunding, in the energy access sector. The research reveals that crowdfunding related to energy access fell by approximately 20% in 2020 as a result of Covid-19. Around $41 million debt was raised for the sector in 2020 in comparison to $55 million in 2019.
