7th Year Anniversary of Energypedia
|
|
A huge thank you to all our partners, donors, supporters and users for a great 2018! With your continuous love, support and encouragement, we managed to launch new projects, join new initiatives and move a step closer to achieve our mission of fostering free knowledge access as well as knowledge sharing across borders.
In 2018, we
- grew from 7,932 to over 8,924 registered users
- had on average 50,000 unique visitors per month on energypedia
- attended the Conference of Parties (COP) 24 as an official UN observer organization and also had a booth to display our approach
- launched the Energy Access portal in collaboration with the World Access to Modern Energy (WAME) Project. This portal hosts information on technology options for energy access, policy framework for energy access and planning energy access projects. Please do contribute!
- hosted different toolkits such as the Solar Powered Irrigation Toolbox, National Approaches to Electrification (NAE) and the Solar Pumping Kit on energypedia
- partnered with the Efficiency for Access Coalition
- joined as media partners for different conferences and workshops.
As we move towards 2019, we look forward to launching new knowledge products, joining new partnerships and creating more content on energypedia. We invite you to be a part of our journey by partnering with us to develop new knowledge products (webinars, databases, portals), donating to our initiatives and creating new articles on energypedia.

January 2019 Solar Power Irrigation Toolbox in Spanish Version
The Solar Power Irrigation Toolbox (SPIS) is now available in Spanish. Check out the toolbox for informative modules and user-friendly tools (calculations sheets, checklists, guidelines) on solar irrigation. The toolbox is developed by the GIZ in collaboration with the FAO, under the global initiative Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development (PAEGC). It is hosted freely on energypedia.►Link to the Toolbox
January 2019 Energypedia Joins the Efficiency for Access Coalition
Energypedia has recently joined the Efficiency for Access coalition. This coalition works towards promoting energy efficiency as a potent catalyst in global clean energy access efforts. We look forward to working with the coalition on different projects.
December 2018 Energypedia at COP24
This year, energypedia was admitted to the Conference of Parties (COP) 24 as an official observer organization. We not only attended the COP but also had a booth at the exhibition area to showcase our approach. We shared the booth with GERES and Abibimman Foundation.
It was an amazing opportunity to meet so many energypedians at the event and we thank you for all your valuable feedback. We will definitely incorporate them into our work.
Click hereto read more about COP24 and the major outcomes.
November 2018 Second s-@ccess Conference
The s-@ccess conference was a great success in Mallorca! The 135 participants from 37 countries enjoyed the very good balance of complementary topics related to energy access. The Innovation Lab kick-stared the discussion, while the ESMAP side event rounded up the discussion about scaling mini-grids. We are looking forward to the 3rd edition again in Mallorca in Spring 2020!
